PHYSICISTS FROM THE PRINCETON PLASMA PHYSICS LABORATORY ARE PARTICIPATING IN A WORLD-WIDE COLLABORATION TO DESIGN A MAJOR TOKAMAK FACILITY, THE INTERNATIONAL THERMONUCLEAR EXPERIMENTAL REACTOR (ITER). ITER WILL BE A LARGE INTERNATIONAL FACILITY CAPABLE OF DEMONSTRATING SELF SUSTAINED POWER PRODUCTION IN THE BILLION WATT RANGE AND CAPABLE OF TESTING AND INTEGRATING ESSENTIAL REACTOR COMPONENTS.
