თრაკიელები (ძვ. ბერძნ. Θρᾷκες, ლათ. Thraci) — პროტო-ინდოევროპული ტომების ჯგუფი, რომლებიც სახლობდნენ ცენტრალურ და სამხრეთ-აღმოსავლეთ ევროპაში.[1] მათ ესაზღვრებოდნენ სკვითები ჩრდილოეთიდან, კელტები და ილირიელები დასავლეთიდან, ძველი საბერძნეთი სამხრეთიდან და შავი ზღვა აღმოსავლეთიდან. ისინი საუბრობდნენ თრაკიულად, რომელიც ინდოევროპული ენების ოჯახს განეკუთვნებოდა. თრაკიელების და მათი კულტურის შესწავლას თრაკოლოგია ეწოდება.

ეტიმოლოგია რედაქტირება

თრაკიელთა შესახებ პირველი ისტორიული ჩანაწერი გვხვდება ილიადაში, სადაც ისინი ტროის ომში აღწერილი არიან როგორც ტროელების ბერძნების წინააღმდეგ მოკავშირეები.[2] ეთნონიმი თრაკიელი მომდინარეობს ძველი ბერძნული სიტყვისგან: Θρᾷξ (მრავლობითში - Θρᾷκες; Thrāix, Thrāikes) ან Θρᾴκιος/იონური: Θρηίκιος (Thrāikios/Thrēikios), ხოლო ტოპონიმი თრაკია: Θρᾴκη/Θρῄκη (Thrāikē/Thrēikē).[3] ყოველი მათგანი წარმოადგენს ბერძნულ ეგზონიმს.[4]
